CAMPING: Letters from Summer Camp
Many times when we think of camping, visions of campfires and fishing trips flood our memory banks- but there are many other camping experiences worthy of firing up your Cricut for! Shantaie Fowler here, and I thought it would be fun to show you how to make some letters for the kiddos to send home from Summer Camp complete with a carrying case that can double as a treasure box once all the letters have been sent. What better way to make a child feel independent then to let them send out their own notes! I’m sure the tin container will come home full of woodland wonders, like special leaves, a few rocks and maybe even a frog!….Well, that’s what my daughter would bring home anyways!
Decorate mini lunch box with textured trees, and a fun title cut with your Cricut Expression. Embossing the trees adds depth and visual interest.
Run tree tops through your Cuttlebug using the Herringbone embossing folder, a light brush with a sanding block and inked edges finish the trees.
Fill the tin with several notes, make sure they are easy to fill out and provide postage. For young children a stack of addressed envelopes is helpful. I made four notes, two of each style with a fun stamped area for the camper to fill in. This could also just be a lined paper left blank, the camper can write their own message home.
All of my little animals were cut with Create A Critter cartridge, and are on the larger side taking up most of the space. This is to both make it fun for the child and to make the notes quick to fill out.
A Blue raccoon? why not, its all for fun right? 
After all that is why we love our Cricut, we can make Polka dotted ducks, or plaid flamingos, there are no boundaries for those of us who wield a Cricut blade!
When cutting your letters, make sure to cut them slightly smaller than the tins interior to insure they will fit without bending. I hope you will share a little gift with your summer campers, and make them feel like you are there with them!

CAMPING: Fish and Fire Game
One of our favorite things about summer is sneaking away to the mountains for a few days for a camping trip. Mmmmmm! I can smell the fresh air and campfire now just thinking about it! I can imagine the crackling of the embers and the trickling sound of a nearby stream. I can picture the kids collecting wildflowers and hear the sound of the crunching gravel beneath our feat as we take a family walk . Have you been camping yet this summer?!
