Sledding

Hello all! Kristen here with a multi-photo layout. I love to include action shots on my layouts, even though with sledding, it’s usually either super close up, or pretty far away. Using my Cricut Expression 2 Electronic Cutting Machine and several carts mixed together allowed me to add fun details and really accent my layout. I used a couple buttons tied with twine, only 2 patterned papers (printed from my Cricut Imagine) and I still have a layout filled with details.

When I first started on this layout, thinking about creating it and where I would add my photos, I knew I wanted to try to add my photos in a line across the layout. I had trimmed my papers- the blue snowflake, kraft and white, and layered them together, but I wanted something else above my photos. I also put my title there, in the banner, but thought I wanted to try to add details from my photos. I found these awesome tree cuts and doubled it, welded it and cut it out. It’s the perfect accent, laying it on the top part of my layout and layering the photos over them. The trees match the trees in the background of my photos!

Of course, with the Snow Day cartridge, I found the perfect sledding girl, and layered her on a cut circle, after I tore some white paper as a snow background for the circle. I also tore snow for underneath my photos, and on top added another torn strip of white cardstock I crumpled then adhered to my layout.

You can see that I also dressed up my title, first putting it on the banner, then I embossed it after I welded the letters together in Cricut Craft Room. I used snowflakes to add another dimension to the title, and of course it goes well with my snow theme. And finally, I added my journaling printed out from the computer.

New Year’s Eve Party Favors

Hi everyone! Ginger here again with a New Year’s Eve idea to share. I was thinking of how fun it would be to make party favors for this New Year’s Eve with my Cricut. I wanted something small that I could easily make many of, but that would also be pretty, and easy to fill with goodies. I came up with the perfect box as I was looking through the 3 Birds Life’s A Party Cartridge. I love how one cut from this cartridge give you not only the box, but lid as well–and with double sided paper you can get a different pop of color for the lid with still just one cut. My kids thought that the way the box opens was genius–another plus!

A little New Year’s Eve sign from the Phrases cartridge ties things together nicely!
