Valentine’s Day Cards with a Twist
This week on the Cricut Blog we thought we would present you with a few NEW Valentine’s Day card ideas. Our designers today have both taken a non-traditional route in creating their cards, choosing to omit the typical Valentine’s Day colors of pink and red. Check out their creations below!

I’M NUTS AND BOLTS 4 YOU by Aphra Bolyer
My four year old is nuts about robots, so I created a Valentine’s card that says “Nuts and Bolts 4 You.” The Robot Party cartridge banner base was a perfect background for the layered robot. To add some dimension, I embossed the gear with my Cuttlebug machine and the Diamond embossing folderand then dressed the robot with some buttons and a chipboard heart. My little sweetheart is sure to feel special when I give him his Valentine’s card.

Hey there! With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, well, I like to create ahead if I have the chance. I get so bored with the usual ‘holiday’ reds and pinks for Valentine’s Day. So I decided to make a pretty frilly card, with cream, aqua, silver and white. Definitely not the usual colors, but so effective once you get them all together! I love the touches of silver I have on my card with the glittery ribbon and chipboard letters. Adding the soft blue pearls grabs your attention to the detailed bird rest, while adding glitter to the birds, bird rest and lace really make the card more dimensional. I hope you will get a little color creative on your own cards!
