Trend: Bookpaper
It’s time to get ready to go back to school and that always makes us think of a hot trend happening all over the design world: BOOKPAPER! Jill Cassity shares with us today a Back to School scrapbook page incorporating this fun trend.

Hi Everyone! Jill Cassity here to share a Back to School scrapbook page that I created using a page from a book as one of my main embellishments. The photos are from my son’s first day of school last year. I couldn’t stop taking photos of him, even when he became impatient with me and started to walk down our sidewalk towards the car. He was so eager to get to his first day of school! I love how he looks with his giant backpack stuffed with all of his brand new school supplies.

I tore out a page from one of my son’s favorite books, “The Dangerous Book for Boys”. Don’t worry, we have two copies of the book! I simply matted the book page with black cardstock and layered it with some My Minds Eye papers to create my layout design.

The journaling block is an image from the Elegant Edges cartridge . I cut the block out of teal patterned paper and simply matted it on cream cardstock. I used the Locker Talk cartridge to make the little gray camera.

Next I used the Paper Lace cartridge to cut the fancy corner and the Nate’s ABC’s Cartridge as my title font.

The flourishes that are mixed in with the fussy cut flowers are cut from the Ashlyn’s Alphabet cartridge. I added the flourishes to the flowers to give them a little more dimension.

Thank you for letting me share my non-traditional Back to school page with you!
