Thanksgiving Kids’ Table Idea!
Hey everyone! Roree Rumph here, and today I am going to share a fun idea for the kids’ table for this Thanksgiving. I’ve created an activity placemat that the little ones (and adults) will be sure to enjoy.

I created the base for the placemat with three 12 x 12” pieces of patterned paper and Kraft cardstock. I adhered the Kraft cardstock to the back of the light green patterned paper. Then with the plaid patterned paper, I cut the sheet in half, scored each panel down the center, and folded them in half creating two 3 x 12” pieces, one for each side. I adhered the folded panels to each side of the 12 x 12” patterned paper/cardstock. It created a 12 x 17.5” place mat. I then added four thin, 12” long strips to cover the seams where the panels meet.

I decorated the green patterned paper side with a ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ sentiment, and I used thin cardstock strips to create a Tic Tac Toe board. I used my Cricut Expression 2 Electronic Cutting Machine and the Autumn Celebrations cartridge to create game pieces from the pumpkin and acorn shapes from colored cardstock.

I left the opposite side with the Kraft cardstock blank so that the kids would have a place to draw and color.

Then using the Cricut Expression 2 Machine and the Sweet Treats cartridge, I created a little box to hold the Tic Tac Toe pieces and some crayons. I decorated it with a turkey image from the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

It really was a fun project to create, and it will be sure to keep your little ones entertained before and after Thanksgiving dinner.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project, and I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Gratitude Mini Album
This Thanksgiving why not create a Gratitude Album highlighting the blessings you and your family members are grateful for in 2011? It will be a keepsake that you and your famioy will treasure for years to come. Design team member, Jennifer Yates, created this album for her sister and her brother-in-law to help them remember their first Thanksgiving with their baby and as a new family of 3.
Jennifer used her Cricut Imagine Machine to create the shaped cover pages and a few of the insert pages. The Cricut Imagine Patterned Papers (Mystical Garden cartridge) blend beautifully with premanufactured patterned papers! She also used her Cricut Expression 2 Electronic Cutting Machine to cut words and page accents for the inside of the album. She left many areas open for extra photos and journaling so that her sister could add for her own personal remembrance of that time in their lives. Use Jennifer’s design as a kickstart to your own Gratitute Mini Album!

GRATEFUL MINI ALBUM

Cover patterned paper printed on the Cricut Imagine Machine using the Imagine Mystical Garden cartridge.

Add phrases and words to your pages using fonts from your cartridges. This font comes from the Paper Lace 2 Cartridge.

A great way to anchor your page elements is with a simple embossed circle. Here Jennifer uses the Cuttlebug Machine and an embossing folder from the Give a Hoot Cuttlebug Companion set. The acorn image is from the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

We love the way Jennifer backed some of the openings in her Paper Lace 2 letters with patterned paper to tie them in with the other elements on the page. The yellow/gray patterned paper and shaped page was created on the Cricut Imagine Machine with the Imagine Mystical Garden cartridge.

The pumpkin shape was created using the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

The nest and tree were created using the Give a Hoot cartridge.

Get Organized!
With a new school year comes a new To Do List and helping our children get back into the routine of having daily homework. Cindy Royal created this adorable chart to help her granddaughter stay organized. Check it out below!
………………………………………………………………
Oh, how I recall school mornings and school nights with the constant asking of the kids, “Did you do …..?” and “Have you done ….?” to with the replies were often “Not yet.” or “I forgot.” I made this To Do List geared towards my 1st grade granddaughter, but with a simple changing of the specific items to do, it can be utilized for any of your elementary school kids. This interactive ‘chart’ makes getting those routine things done a little more fun when the child can move a magnet with the completion of each item and watch their own progress.

I started with a standard 10 x 15 cookie sheet and some strong 5/8″ round magnets. For ease in adhering my background to the baking sheet, I printed my patterned paper onto Cricut Printable Vinyl with my Cricut Imagine Machine, using the Blast Off and Imagine More Cards cartridges.

I decided to break it into 3 sections: Morning, Night and Homework. The Morning and Night sections are arranged so that with every item done on the list, the “I have” magnet can be placed over the NOT on the item, revealing an icon where it originally was while at the same time indicating an item as completed. The same is done with the Homework section. Moving a subject completed from the “to do” side to the “done” side reveals an A+.
Maybe this will make the school year go a little smoother.
