Setting Up Camp
Whether you’re camping, cruising, or sitting around the pool this summer, the Pack Your Bags cartridge has all kinds of images to help you record your summer memories!
Hi Cricut Fans! Jana Eubank here. My family loves to go camping in the mountains each summer. I giggle at ourselves everytime we set up our camp because the first thing that gets pulled out, along with the kids’ camp chairs and nature exploring kits, is the satellite dish … my husband loves to have his news. I had to record this funny, family memory and chose the adorable car and trailer images from the Pack Your Bags cartridge to accent my page.

I cut the images out using several patterned papers and cardstocks. I chose to use vellum for the windows for a slight hint of transparency. I created the “road” for my vehicle with a length of burlap ribbon . . . perfect texture for a camping page.

My title was created using letter stickers anchored on an oval bookplate image from the Fabulous Finds cartridge. I added metal eyelets and tied a bit of twine on each end to match the natural burlap texture at the bottom of the page. The background of the bookplate image was stamped with a woodgrain stamp to give it more of a natural feeling, as well.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Summer!

Children’s Job Chart!
School’s out and the kids are home to enjoy summer! Help your child feel important by giving them a few responsibilities around the house. They will enjoy the sense of accomplishment and you will enjoy the extra bit of help! Jana Eubank shows us how to assemble this project below.

I created the base of my Children’s Chore Chart with a simple piece of wood. The edges are routered smooth and I applied a clear coat to protect the wood. Next, I added 5 cup hooks (available at your local home improvement center) and decorated the board using Cricut Vinyl in Raven, Burnt Umber, Yellow, and Lime Green. The stars were created using the Chore Chart Lite cartridge and the title letters are from the Cupcake Lite cartridge.
The idea behind this chore chart is that the child will have five jobs (or job cards) to work on each day. As they complete the task, they turn the card over to reveal the gold star. Everyone loves a gold star for a job well-done!

The black card base was created using the Fabulous Finds Cartridge. All other cuts are from the Chore Chart Lite cartridge. I love that the images on this cartridge are simple pictures that even a non-reader can understand! Just look at all the sweet images! Aren’t they CUTE?! Any child would enjoy using these!

As a child completes their tasks each day, set up some kind of reward system. Maybe they could earn points for each job completed. Or after so many days of completing all five jobs, your child could choose a special treat, prize, or activity.

To make the cards extra durable, laminate them using the YourStory Book Binder and Laminating Machine.
Finally, finish your Chore Chart by hot glueing a couple of magnets to the back. This allows you to display the job chart on your refrigerator, or perhaps a magnetic message board. Have fun!

Cartridge Throwback: Fabulous Finds
Happy Monday to you! Today we have a new feature for you called “Cartridge Throwback”. Periodically, we will be pulling out an older or retired cartridge and showcasing it with a FRESH idea! We want to help you see your existing Cricut cartridge library with new eyes, and help you find ways to use the supplies you have already invested in. Enjoy!

Today Deanna Misner is sharing with us a scrapbook page using the Fabulous Finds cartridge. This cartridge features all kinds of doodads like hinges, bookplates, clips, tags, buckles, tabs, and MORE! If you are looking for that perfect finishing touch to your project and you’re not sure what to add . . . try one of the images from the Fabulous Finds cartridge!
Here Deanna uses clipboard, file folder, and tab images to create this adorable page of her children. We love the way she created a “case file” on each one of them describing their unique personalities.
