Springtime Treats!
Spring is on it’s way, along with Easter, Mother’s Day and probably some birthdays, anniversaries, and other special days for you and your family. Cindy Royal here to show you a cupcake holder that I created reminiscent of a big flower that can be easily adapted to any of your upcoming special spring days, made in any color schemes or themes.
This holder accommodates a 9 oz plastic cup that will hold a mega cupcake topped with a huge cloud of frosting! While you can insert the cupcake directly into the holder, the plastic cup makes it easier to remove the cupcake and keeps the holder clean for another treat.
I know I called it a “cupcake” holder, but really, it’s a “whatever you want” holder. Candies, snacks, muffins and cupcakes are just a few. Even a simple after school snack can be made a special occasion. Don’t limit yourself to edible items either. Fill one up with embellishments for a crafty friend or bobbins of thread for a sewist or maybe hair bands and barrettes for a little girl.
Assembling the holder is really pretty simple. Using the cut file (download available below), score and cut all your pieces. The layers in the cut file are labeled appropriately so you know which is which.
Score, cut and assemble the main cup as shown for the tea cup on the Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 cartridge. Score and cut the two petal layers (inner petals and outer petals).
Shape the petals and fold on the scores.
Once shaped and folded, place the inner petals on top of the outer petals, pattern sides facing down. Glue this in place being sure the inner petals fill the spaces of the outer petals.
The main cup is then glued to the inside of this petal piece.
Bring the inside petals up and adhere to the cup along the edges. I used a strong liquid glue, but you can use foam or glue dots as well.
The outer petals are then brought up in the same way and adhered to the cup being formed. Here I used dimensional glue dots so they would sit a little away from the cup for extra dimension.
All that’s left is to arrange the leaves and cup onto the medallion and place on the plate liner circle. Assemble and embellish with a butterfly and you are read to fill.

Cut all elements and assemble. Print sentiment on tag. Outline edge of tag. Fill baggies and staple together at the top. Attach topper with Glue Dots.

Valentine Candy Box
Lisa Falduto swinging by with a fun Valentine project for you to create! There is nothing more enjoyable than adding a personal touch to the box of Valentine candy you purchase in the store. While some boxes can be very lavish and beautiful in their design, they come at quite a hefty price. Instead of paying for that beautiful decor I decided to purchase a less costly box and make it lavish and beautiful using my Cricut Imagine, Cricut Expression, and Cricut Craft Room!
First, I traced the box outline on a 12×12 printed sheet of paper from my Cricut Imagine and Cricut Imagine More cartridge. Then I trimmed it down to fit on the front of the box leaving some red border.
Next, I took some black sequin trim and covered the area where the paper meets the box to give it definition and sparkle. After that I created my cuts from the Victorian Romance and Flower Shoppe cartridges and added them to the center area.
My finishing touches include some pink lace, gem flourishes, ribbon, and a sparkly gem center for my flower.
So what are you waiting for? Grab that box of candy and start cutting! This may be the most creative Valentine’s Day yet!
