Birthday Gift Wrap Idea

Hello everyone! Ginger Williams here showcasing a birthday gift wrap idea you can make with your Cricut Machines. At my house we seem to have a large amount of half used rolls of gift wrap in two themes–boys and Christmas. This works out well if I am wrapping something for one of my three boys, or if I want Christmas wrapping paper, but every now and then I need something for a girl, or for an adult, or for some other occasion. Thankfully, I can turn to my Cricut for the perfect wrapping solution and save myself yet another run to the store.

For this gift box I used one of my newest favorite cartridges, Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More 2, to cut the Pizza box. I used the pizza box as the base for my gift box. The finished size of this particular box is around 6″ square by about 1 1/2″ tall, which makes it a great box for many small gifts. To make it that large I did cut it in two pieces as opposed to the main cut which makes the box in one cut, but makes a much smaller box.

I wrapped the box with two bands of patterned paper which I stitched together with my sewing machine and then wrapped with white crochet thread. I cut the “Celebrate” sentiment from the Paper Lace 2 Cartridge and added it to the paper band with pop dots. A little bit of Stickles glitter on the sentiment gives it more sparkle.

Next, I cut two flowers with the Art Philosophy Cartridge and added them to the left of the sentiment. Two leaves from the Mother’s Day Bouquet Digital Cartridge are tucked behind the flowers and both the leaves and the flowers got a little brushing of the Stickels glitter for added interest.

Lastly, I decided to add a little tag to the bottom right with an additional sentiment. I cut the tags from the Art Philosophy Cartridge and the the font is from the Street Sign Digital Cartridge. I added the tag and the tag layer to the gift box with pop dots for added dimension.

Now I have a perfect little box ready for giving the next time I don’t want to use super hero or Christmas gift wrap!

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Hi Everyone! Jill here to share a wedding layout with you today.  I scrapped a photo of my bridesmaids and I at my wedding last summer.  I adore all of these girls so much so I wanted to make a page dedicated just to them!

I began creating my layout by cutting a large image with the Paper Lace 2 cartridge out of cardstock.  I took the cut image, lay it on a white piece of cardstock and I sprayed glimmer mist all over the white cardstock.  After the glimmer mist dried I lifted the cut image off of the white cardstock and I had a pretty and slightly messy glimmer misted image!  I matted the image with orange cardstock and used it as one of the layers on my layout.

Since I wanted my layout to be flowery, I used the Ribbons & Rosettes cartridge to cut a big red patterned paper rosette and a smaller orange rosette.  I adhered a wooden button to the center of each rosette.

One of my new favorite Cricut fonts is the Noah’s ABC Animals font.  I cut the word “beautiful” with the cartridge out of blue patterned paper and matted each letter on orange cardstock.  I mixed the cut letters with green and orange glitter stickers to create the mixed title.

To finish off the page I used some fun Cricut and Pink Paislee die cuts along with some fabric leaves and flowers.

Thank you so much for letting me share my wedding layout with you today!

Gratitude Mini Album

This Thanksgiving why not create a Gratitude Album highlighting the blessings you and your family members are grateful for in 2011? It will be a keepsake that you and your famioy will treasure for years to come. Design team member, Jennifer Yates, created this album for her sister and her brother-in-law to help them remember their first Thanksgiving with their baby and as a new family of 3.

Jennifer used her Cricut Imagine Machine to create the shaped cover pages and a few of the insert pages. The Cricut Imagine Patterned Papers (Mystical Garden cartridge) blend beautifully with premanufactured patterned papers! She also used her Cricut Expression 2 Electronic Cutting Machine to cut words and page accents for the inside of the album. She left many areas open for extra photos and journaling so that her sister could add for her own personal remembrance of that time in their lives. Use Jennifer’s design as a kickstart to your own Gratitute Mini Album!

GRATEFUL MINI ALBUM

Cover patterned paper printed on the Cricut Imagine Machine using the Imagine Mystical Garden cartridge.

Add phrases and words to your pages using fonts from your cartridges. This font comes from the Paper Lace 2 Cartridge.

A great way to anchor your page elements is with a simple embossed circle. Here Jennifer uses the Cuttlebug Machine and an embossing folder from the Give a Hoot Cuttlebug Companion set. The acorn image is from the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

We love the way Jennifer backed some of the openings in her Paper Lace 2 letters with patterned paper to tie them in with the other elements on the page. The yellow/gray patterned paper and shaped page was created on the Cricut Imagine Machine with the Imagine Mystical Garden cartridge.

The pumpkin shape was created using the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

The nest and tree were created using the Give a Hoot cartridge.
